Interactive AI Novel

The AI Novel Where You Become the Main Character

Read the story. Make the choices. Become the character.

What TalesTalesTales is

TalesTalesTales is an interactive AI Novel where you create a character, enter a story world and decide what happens next. Light RPG elements such as dice rolls, skills, equipment, inventory and objectives add flavour and structure, while the Memory Codex tracks important characters, events and unresolved story threads.

It runs in the browser with no download and no rulebook. You read a scene, decide what your character does, and the narrator writes the consequence as the next chapter.

What we mean by an AI Novel

An AI Novel is an interactive story generated and adapted by AI, where the reader participates as a character and influences how the narrative develops. That is the product definition we build against — it is not a formal industry standard.

In practice it means the prose is written to be read, not skimmed: scenes, dialogue and description rather than a list of game states.

How your choices work

Every turn you either pick one of the suggested actions or write your own in plain English. The narrator resolves what you did, moves the scene forward and offers the next set of openings.

Choices are not limited to a fixed menu, so two players in the same world can end up with very different chapters.

The Memory Codex

Long AI stories usually drift because the model cannot keep the whole history in view. The Memory Codex is our answer to that: a structured record of named characters, key events, inventory changes, objectives and unresolved threads that is fed back to the narrator each turn.

Betray Captain Elara in one chapter and the Memory Codex can record the damaged relationship, the unpaid bounty and the unresolved consequences. When she returns later, those details can influence the scene instead of being treated as unrelated events.

It improves continuity and helps longer stories stay consistent. It is not a guarantee that nothing will ever be forgotten or contradicted.

Light RPG elements

  • Create a character, roll starting stats, collect equipment, track objectives and face occasional dice-based checks while the story remains the focus.
  • Occasional dice rolls when an action could plausibly fail.
  • Skills and equipment that colour how scenes resolve.
  • An inventory that carries across chapters.
  • Objectives that give a campaign direction.
  • No complicated rules required — you can ignore all of it and just read.

Who it is for

Readers who want a story that reacts to them, players who like choice-driven fiction without learning a rulebook, and writers who want a co-author that keeps track of the world.

Common questions

Do I need to know RPG rules? No. You can play the whole game by typing what your character does in ordinary English.

Does it remember my earlier chapters? The Memory Codex tracks the details it identifies as important and feeds them back to the narrator, which improves continuity over long campaigns. It does not guarantee perfect recall.

Is it free? There is a 5-turn trial with no signup, and a free account gives 15 turns per day. Paid tiers add more turns and additional narrators.

Can I bring my own setting? Yes — you can start in a curated world or describe your own in plain English.
