AI D&D Game
AI D&D Game
with a real Dungeon Master
TalesTalesTales is an Interactive AI Novel Game with an optional D&D-inspired rules layer. Roll real dice, manage HP and spell slots, recruit party companions, and let the AI Dungeon Master adjudicate outcomes turn by turn. The story is always illustrated. Free every day.
If you want the feel of a Friday-night tabletop session but nobody in your group can find a free Friday, TalesTalesTales is the fix. Type an action, the AI Dungeon Master narrates the outcome, asks for the right roll when it’s needed, applies your ability modifier, and keeps a running combat tracker in the sidebar with initiative, HP, and conditions.
The rules layer is opt-in. You can slide the dice off entirely and treat the AI as a novel co-writer — pure prose, no mechanics. Slide them on and you get 5e-flavoured combat, saves, spell slots and death saves. Most sagas end up somewhere in the middle — an illustrated novel driven by real dice outcomes.
The Memory Codex is what makes long campaigns actually work. Every NPC, every faction, every thread you’ve pulled is remembered across turns. When you return to a village fifty chapters later, the mayor still remembers your name and the promise you didn’t keep. Party companions are tracked individually with their own HP, mood, loyalty and dialogue voice.
Every scene is auto-illustrated by an image model tuned for the setting. You get a picture of your character, your party, your surroundings. It looks like a novel. It plays like a campaign. Switch AI narrators (Claude Sonnet 4.5, Claude Haiku 4.5, GPT-5, Gemini 2.5 Pro) mid-saga; the Codex is designed to hold state across the swap.
What you get
Real 5e-inspired dice
d4 through d100, advantage/disadvantage, saving throws, death saves. The narrator asks for the correct roll and applies your ability modifier automatically.
HP, initiative & conditions
A full combat tracker in the sidebar. Enemies have initiative, HP, conditions; you can bandage, cast, retreat, or negotiate at any point.
Attacks, saves & spell slots
Fireball costs a slot; a longsword rolls to hit and rolls damage; a Wisdom save catches you at the last second on a botched leap.
Party companions with morale
Recruit NPCs mid-adventure. They have their own HP, mood, loyalty, and can die or leave if you push them past their limits.

Frequently asked
Is this a real D&D 5e game?
TalesTalesTales uses D&D-inspired mechanics — d20 checks, HP, initiative, spell slots, saving throws, death saves. It isn't officially licensed by Wizards of the Coast, but the rules feel authentic if you're used to 5e.
Do I need to know the rules?
No. The AI Dungeon Master asks you for the right roll when it's needed and explains what's happening. If you're a first-time TTRPG player, you'll learn as you go. If you're a veteran, everything works the way you expect.
Can I play solo?
Yes — TalesTalesTales is designed for solo play. The AI handles the DM role, all the NPCs, and the world simulation. No scheduling, no party wipe because someone had to bail early.
How is this different from an AI Dungeon-style chatbot?
Chatbots forget. TalesTalesTales runs a persistent Memory Codex that tracks every NPC, quest, thread, inventory item and world event across turns. You can also treat it as a novel — the story is illustrated and written in literary prose, not stripped-down chat replies.
What happens if my character dies?
Permadeath is opt-in. By default, falling to 0 HP triggers death saves — three failures ends the saga. Some players consider that the best story their character ever got.
